Joanna Elkhoury

200 ERYT, YACEP

Owner, Teacher, Energy Healer, Life Long Student

Joanna Elkhoury’s serious journey with Yoga started in 2005 when she had her first baby.  She needed something to help her cope with the stresses of a corporate job, as well as lack of sleep.  An introduction to Yoga became her sanctuary, and her tool for balance, clarity, and strength.  In 2011 she decided to quit her job and follow what triggers her passion.  She enrolled in a 200 Hour Yoga teacher training and received her certification with Yoga Alliance in March 2012.   Ever since she’s been deepening her knowledge and added trainings in yoga nidra, restorative Yoga, and trauma informed practices.

Joanna teaches the way she practices. Inspired by many teachers and styles, her style in yoga is very fluid and intuitive.  Her classes focus on alignment and connection between breath and movement.  Focusing on all the aspects that constitute a Yoga practice: Asana, Pranayama, Meditation...  Her goal is to help the students learn the system in a way that they can take the lessons they learn on the mat, and use them in all aspects of their lives.

Along with her passion for Yoga, Joanna has discovered an equal passion for energy healing.  She’s been extensively trained in Pranic Healing since 2010 and is a certified Usui Reiki Master.  The knowledge that she amassed from her energy healing practices brings in a very unique perspective and understanding of the unseen layers that constitute the Yoga experience.  She often shares a lot of that knowledge with her Yoga students, guiding them on their own Yoga journey.

Yoga has been Joanna’s tool to ground and grow. It has been her companion as a wife, mother, as a friend, and as a teacher.  In short, it made her discover her essence and her inner power.  Her passion is to share this tool and help others discover that experience.

Allison Van Camp

200 RYT, 500 RYT

Teacher, Life Long Student

Allison van Camp is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher with certifications in restorative yoga, chair yoga, and Ayurveda. She has been practicing yoga for over ten years and began studying Iyengar yoga in 2009 while living in Shanghai. Stiff and totally disconnected from self, yoga was transformational in her life. By connecting more deeply within, she was inspired to earn a second degree in dietetics and started a nutrition coaching practice while living abroad. She has been helping others reach their health and wellness goals for the past 8 years. Knowing the deeply healing power of yoga, she began incorporating asana and meditation into her wellness programs. In 2019, she completed her yoga teacher training at the Yoga & Ayurveda Center in Bangor, PA, under Steph Ball-Mitchell. Since that time, she has been teaching private yoga, holding workshops, and offering hatha yoga classes to her community. Her classes are a mix of pranayama, vinyasa, hatha, restorative yoga, and meditation. Her goal is to help students gain strength and flexibility in the body and mind, so that they can enjoy the incredible benefits of yoga both on and off the mat.

Lilian Leone

200 ERYT, YACEP

Teacher, Life Long Student

Lilian discovered Yoga in 2006. At that time her health was not good and she was looking for a more
meaningful life. Her first yoga class was Bikram Yoga which she practiced for about 3 years every
single day, and very quickly, the daily practice became an important part of her life.
In 2009 she tried Ashtanga Yoga for the first time and it was a case of love at the first Sun Salutation.
In 2013 she took her 200-hour yoga teacher training and earned her RYT-200 credential. From that
moment on she never stopped studying and learning more about Ashtanga, anatomy, movement, mobility
and the mental benefits of yoga. She's trained with leading yoga, anatomy, and philosophy teachers
including David William, David Robinson, Taylor Hunt, Tymi Howard Bender, and Kino MacGregor.
For her, Yoga is about the balance between strength and flexibility, exertion, and release. Her classes
combine both strength and mobility work in an Ashtanga Vinyasa style. Expect to move, sweat, and
breathe. She is a dynamic and also very compassionate teacher with a true regard for her students’
healing. She loves to encourage self-empowerment and self–awareness in them.

Teresa Pando Magers

200 RYT

Teacher, Life Long Student

Yoga makes me happy.  Twenty-five years ago, I took my first class at a community college in Miami, and I fell in love with yoga and meditation.  Since then, I have always felt that yoga has been my companion.

In 2009, I moved to Atlanta and my interest and curiosity motivated me to enroll in a 200-hour teacher training program in Hatha Yoga under the instruction of Swami Jaya Devi at Kashi Atlanta Urban Ashram.

I first taught yoga as a substitute teacher at Lifetime Fitness in Peachtree City, and led bi-weekly sessions for two years at the clubhouse of the apartment complex where I lived. I was learning so much at this time in my life and felt a sense of satisfaction and completeness.

I continued exploring various approaches to yoga to improve my skills:

  • a workshop with Aadil Palkhivala who is a well-known teacher in Purna Yoga

  • Iyengar practice with my mentor, Avril James at Piedmont Hospital, who opened my eyes to a better understanding of alignment of the human body

  • “Wisdom of the Body” workshops with Allen Pittman along with Egyptian Yoga.

  • Certified teacher with 100 hours in restorative yoga with Rutu Chaudhari at All Life is Yoga

  • Practicing Ashtanga under the fabulous teaching of Lilian Leone at Sunny Street Yoga

Yoga makes me feel joyful and restored. My goal as a teacher is for my students to always leave class with happy hearts.

Kay Frederick

200 CYT

Teacher, Life Long Student

I fell in love with yoga when I was 15 years old. The flexibility and strength of those who practiced yoga amazed me! And they made it look so easy.

I soon came to realize it’s more than just about strength and flexibility. It’s a lot deeper than that.

Yoga has helped me through so many things in life including cancer, anxiety, depression, and any other obstacles that came my way.

I enjoy teaching and bringing the same light that yoga has brought into my life, to others.

Lana Kolpakova

500 RYT

Teacher, Life Long Student

Hello Friends! My name is Lana Kolpakova. Yoga has been my love and passion for more than 20 years- while building a family, a career and raising kids, Yoga was that part of my life that kept me going, smiling and most importantly feeling healthy … Until 2020 …when I took one small step that initiated a cascade of other changes…That year opened up a new path for myself- Kim Saunders at Lift Yoga taught me to fly high with her live classes of 200- hours YTT program.  That was followed by 500-hours of Vinyasa course by Dr. Kumar at Traditional Yoga.  I also received a certification in Essential Oils for Yoga, and practiced leadership with weekly Community Yoga classes at Wills Park in Alpharetta.  These  movements let me grow spiritually and mentally and were fitting very well with my desire to focus on exercising and teaching gentle and/or restorative yoga with concentration on longevity and vitality. There was no doubt in my mind anymore, that with ancient tools known as Asanas, Pranayama and Mudra techniques along with meditation, we are able to maintain the whole body at  balance in any stressful environment .
At Truth in Motion Yoga we created a sacred place just for You - please come and find your style, your teacher, and your group of people to share vibes with.

Sharon Ross

E-RYT200, RYT500, YACEP

Teacher/Life Long Student

Sharon discovered yoga 12 years ago after life-altering events left her depleted physically and emotionally. Unable to do a rigorous workout, but determined to become stronger, she wandered into a yoga studio and began her journey back to health and, ultimately, back to Self.

Sharon completed her 200-hr Teaching certification in 2017; and, in 2021, completed her 500-hr Advanced Yoga Teaching certification, both with Sheila Ewers, with additional certifications in Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Sharon’s classes include pranayama (breath techniques), asanas (postures), and centering/meditation. Classes, at minimum, give a nod, and oftentimes a deep bow, to the rich and ancient wisdom of yoga by incorporating yogic philosophy and relating it to our modern lives. Sharon’s hope is for you to leave class feeling more centered, balanced and open than when you arrived; and, with dedicated practice, more equipped to face challenges and embrace joy, not only on the mat, but in your life as well.
